About the Speaker
Dr. Rui Chen is currently a distinguished professor at the School of Material Science and Chemical Engineering. He received his bachelor's degree from China University of Geosciences (Wuhan) and his Ph.D. from Huazhong University of Science and Technology.
His research focuses on the development of high-efficiency and stable perovskite solar cells, with particular emphasis on interface engineering, defect passivation, and materials design.
Dr. Chen has published over 60 papers in leading international journals such as Science, Nature, Nature Energy and Nature Communications. His work has received more than 6000 citations and a H-index of 32.

Abstract
Perovskite solar cells have emerged as one of the most exciting developments in photovoltaics, achieving remarkable efficiency improvements within just over a decade. Their unique optoelectronic properties, low-cost fabricates, low-cost fabrication potential, and compatibility with tandem architectures make them strong candidates for next-generation solar energy technologies.
In this talk, he will introduce the fundamentals of perovskite of perovskite photovoltaics, highlight his research on improving device efficiency and stability, and discuss the key challenges that remain for large-scale commercialization.
