Opening ceremony and international East Lake conference to be held on August 21-26, 2026

We would like to cordially invite all of you to celebrate our inaugural opening ceremony of LQM Institute, located at Hubei University of Technology, Hubei province, China to be held on August 21-25, 2026.

Hubei province and Hubei University of Technology recently launched a new LQM Institute to aim to establish global research hub for one-stop research on layered quantum materials and devices, that promotes basic science and further fosters disruptive technology for industry. The idea is to bring scientists from all over the world to work together by constructing an open space of 16,000 m² with comprehensive research facility from materials synthesis, structural, optical, magnetic, and electronic material analysis, and device fabrications for further physics and device applications, including clean room / dry room to install various equipment such as  8 nm/30 nm EBL/PL, 300 keV GRM-TEM/STEM, FE-SEM, time-resolved ARPES, PPMS, MPMS, XRD, XPS/UPS, AFMs, LT-2T STM, AFM/Raman/PL/TRPL, MOKE, LT-ar-PL, CVD/CVT, sputters, e-beam evaporators, etc.

There will be a half-day opening ceremony of our LQM Institute in the afternoon on August 21, 2026 with lab tour, followed by the reception in evening session. Together with opening ceremony,  we would like to organize International East Lake Conference in famous Donghu lake on August 22-26 lake to bring scientists to work together with the state-of the-art facility and organize summer school with long and short lectures in hot summer to enjoy scientific sessions in the morning and afternoon, while enjoying various activities in beautiful east lake in the evening. There will be a gathering together with ~45 distinguised speakers all over the world. Students are welcome to participate the EL conference to learn multidisciplinary sciences and share friends.
